Time Flies

I just got back from spending nearly a week in Las Vegas last night and I hope everyone who celebrated Christmas had a happy holiday! Although I'm glad to be home, I miss not having to worry about anything while on vacation. I can't believe classes start in less than a week... where did the time go? I miss feeling like breaks from school would never end, as I did when I was 10-years-old. This past year has been a complete blur; I feel like it should still be 2008, hah.

Left: Silence & Noise v-neck, RVCA x Erin Wasson blazer, F21 skirt & snake print clutch, and Payless x Alice+Olivia moto boots.
Right: Silence & Noise top, UO belt, H&M skirt, faux fur coat, purse, and zipper wedges.

Here's my new $18 faux fur coat I mentioned in the previous post! I'm so glad I waited so long to find one since I'm quite happy with the purchase and the coat keeps me super warm. I only wish it was a little bit bigger/longer.

My family and I had a lovely Christmas Eve dinner at Mandalay Bay's RM Seafood:

Clam Chowder

3 lb. Maine Lobster!

Also had breakfast at one of my favorite restaurants (also open 24 hours!) in Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay's Raffles Cafe:

I could seriously eat Irish Oatmeal all day, every day for the rest of my life and I would be happy.

"Exotic" Fruit Plate

A big thanks to Caesar's Palace for our complimentary tickets to the annual Far East Christmas concert, Rain:
Legend of Rainism
.

This is the closest I'll ever get to him, haha.

Left: Zara button-down, Hollister shredded denim shorts, F21 ruffled vest, H&M purse and zippered wedges.
RIght: Button-down from a Korean boutique, F21 Chloe-esque shorts with belt, H&M leather bag and zippered wedges.

For Christmas, I received a Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Baby Groovee in Newsprint... which I absolutely adore. It's the perfect size - small, yet big enough to fit my huge wallet, D60, and a water bottle - and color, a dark gray with a hint of olive. I'm afraid to take it out 'cause I don't want to dirty or damage it, since I'm quite abusive to my handbags :/ I'll be sure to include photos of it in the next post!

Also, I'll be giving away a Marc Jacobs key ring loop as a thank you gift to one of my readers, so stay tuned for the giveaway post :)

Mixing Prints

H&M dress, purse & beret, Anne Taylor Loft cardigan, and Deena & Ozzy studded flats.

Here's something simple I wore yesterday, while I did some holiday shopping... for myself, haha. I definitely need to stop spending and start saving! I went to 4 different Targets to look for the Rodarte black lace cardigan and eventually found it in an extra large. I bought it anyways 'cause I really liked it. Did anyone get anything good? I know I could've ordered online but I prefer to see the item in person first to feel the texture, see it's quality, and fit before purchasing.

I also went to the local mall and did some shopping at Forever 21, where I bought a black faux fur vest for $19 and a pair of ChloƩ-esque shorts for $23. Oh, and the best purchase of the weekend? An $18 tan faux fur coat on sale from H&M (retail $60, 70% off)! I've been looking for a fur coat for awhile now to invest in and one for $18? I'm extremely satisfied :) Did any of you find any good deals over the weekend?

Holiday Season

Silence & Noise v-neck, Bebe cardigan, Hollister denim, F21 necklace & boots, and Louis Vuitton Speedy purse.

The battery in my car died last night so I called my dealership this morning so they could arrange someone to tow my car. Thank goodness all the fees, labor, and the new battery pack were covered under warranty. However, the dealership still managed to rack up the bill to $350 for fixing my thin rear brake pads and poor alignment. Bye-bye Sam Edelman Zoe's...

Later, I went to my dad's company's Christmas dinner and White Elephant gift exchange.

Along with this awesome Snuggie, I got a gift card to Target. I can't wait to use it since I haven't shopped in a month and
I'm having serious withdrawals. Maybe I'll use it this Sunday when the Rodarte for Target collection debuts!
(Please excuse the person's behind to the right of me.)

Zara striped shirt, Anne Taylor Loft cardigan, H&M skirt & zipper wedges, UO belt, and Betsey Johnson clutch.

I also wanted to give a big thanks to Lucy for featuring me on the new UC San Diego fashion blog, Fashion Quarterly.
Head on over and show some support, especially if you're a SD student or Alumni :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

From My Closet to Yours

I've posted up a couple of new things on Shop Positive Tension, so be sure to check it out! Most of the things
listed are shoes, so I'll try to add more items such as dresses, denim, accessories, etc. by this weekend.

Bright Light

F21 plaid shirt, Hollister distressed denim, AA jacket, H&M purse & boots, Versace sunglasses, and various gold chains from H&M, F21, & Betsey Johnson.

Although the weather was partially cloudy today, I wore sunglasses 'cause my eyes were super sensitive to the light after my optometrist gave me dilating eye drops for an eye exam. My eyes were dilated for about another four hours after the exam and let me tell you, it was not fun not being able to read anything near-sighted or keep my eyes open for long before shutting my eyes in pain. I ended up just napping the rest of the day 'cause there was absolutely nothing I could do, haha. Along with getting new eyeglass frames and contacts though, I'll also be getting a new cell phone! I'm excited to pick one out this weekend.

Old News...

...but I'm still drooling over the Zoe's. I constantly think about them; it's safe to say I'm quite smitten.
But I just can't bring myself to fork out the money, heh. Maybe I'll splurge a little this holiday?

Winter Break

I am such a bad blogger; I haven't posted in over a week! In my defense, I've been really busy with school and studying for finals. It's been a stressful and hectic month, and I'm glad it's over. I just hope my hard work has paid off. During the week before and of finals, I literally wore the same thing everyday: a beanie, boat or scoop neck tee, zip-up hoodie, sweats, and Nikes. I thought of taking a photo to show you guys, but deemed it inappropriate for the blog 'cause it was lounge wear. Now that finals are over, I should be getting back into the swing of things and posting regularly!

Zara tee, Mango blazer, Topman over-sized beanie, F21 denim, H&M purse, and Dolce Vita oxfords.

Nothing to do with Fashion

But I have this currently playing on repeat nonstop :)
There's a subtitle option incase you're interested in what the song means.
Anddddd, Taeyang is so good looking, yum.

Eyes Open

H&M wolf sweater & purse, F21 faux fur vest, Topman over-sized beanie, Levi's denim, and Alice+Olivia x Payless boots.

Geneva watch, Omega Constellation, and rings from random vendor on university campus.

I jokingly told my friends that I wore this to watch New Moon and they believed me, which I found quite funny since I'm not a Twilight fan, haha. Looking at the photos, I just remembered I was informed recently that Target has a couple of faux fur vests on sale for $8! Eight dollars. Amazing. Thanks to Lynn for the tip! And yes, I'm still obsessed with this vest. I'm actually on the prowl for a full-on faux fur coat... I just haven't found any (affordable) ones that I want to invest in. I was eying this one, but my size is sold out :/

Today after class, I went to the student center to watch an exclusive screening of an award-winning documentary about the brutal Burma military regime, Burma VJ: Reporting From a Closed Country. It's currently showing only in Europe and will be released in selected U.S. theatres in May. It was really interesting and quite depressing... It made me very thankful to be living in America, despite my dislike for the U.S. government and our capitalistic society. One of the attendees said it's also available on YouTube, so if you're in America and can't wait until May or want learn more about what's going on in the world, please check it out! One person can make all the difference; the first step is to be aware.

Also, could y'all do me a favor? For a school project, I'm responsible for creating web media to promote the Apparel Merchandising & Management department at my university. I made a Facebook fan page and blog as part of the assignment, so if you could add the fan page and follow the blog, I would greatly appreciate it! You can remove yourself as a fan and/or follower in two weeks if you like - my group members and I just need our professor to see that the sites are "active". Thanks a lot in advance! :)

Food Coma

I apologize beforehand for the wonky colors in the photos; we were shooting indoors and I forgot to adjust my camera's settings.

H&M sequin top & skirt, F21 fur vest, random opaque tights, and Juicy Couture wedges.

For Thanksgiving dinner, my family and I dined at Wynn's Stratta; the food was absolutely delicious! My mouth is watering just thinking about it and uploading these photos onto my computer. I'm horrible with names so I don't remember the dishes' exact names, but here are the photos...

Calamari

Margherita Pizza

Chicken - best chicken dish ever.

Chocolate Cake with Gold Shavings.

Then we had a lovely late breakfast at Mandalay Bay's Raffles Cafe.
HmMm, I love bagels with cream cheese.

Strawberry Waffle, nom nom nom.

It was my first time actually adding fruit to my pancakes. I thought they were a little too sweet, to be honest.
